Our demo bike is Shiny’s own personal Gilera Runner. It has been used as daily transport since we have owned it. It is now also used as our sprinting bike for drag racing and as a demo bike for customers to try out when they visit us at the workshop. Everyone who rides it comes back with a grin on there face.

The bike is fully road legal and won the Street Legal Auto up to 200cc class of the Straightliners Drag Racing series 2011. It was also the first, and currently only, in the Street Legal class to break the 100mph barrier on the strip, achieving 101mph from a standing start on 24th July at East Kirkby. It's also unbeaten in every single head-to-head scooter race we have competed in. We are within ½ a second of the best times of the Top Scooter and Competition Scooter classes which run stretched-out dragster frames specifically designed for sprinting. On top of this outstanding performance, this bike is tuned to last. It's a street bike, not a race bike. The engine has not been rebuilt since August 2010. The only breakage we had all year was one throttle cable in the last round in October. We made carb and transmission adjustments throughtout the year, but in between races the bike didn't even get cleaned.

It's a workhorse, and is built for riding, not looking at, so aesthetically it is not perfect, but we believe it is the fastest road legal Gilera Runner currently in the country and has had consistent results all season.
