EAST KIRKBY 3RD APRIL 2011
Another fantastic day's racing was had at East Kirkby Airfield. The venue is a runway in the middle of a field, couldn't be more different to Santa Pod. The event organisers had cleaned the strip to perfection and organised perfect weather conditions for racing too, sunny with a chill in the air.
Unfortunately for us, we were the only ones in our class to show up, so the winner's plaque was a foregone conclusion, but pleasingly we knocked 0.41 seconds off our previous best time, achieving 13.45 on two separate runs. We also managed 95 mph terminal speed at 1/4 mile on two of the runs, a 5mph improvement. Jordan was keeping up with some of the large cc motorbikes getting to the 60ft mark (18.3m) in 1.800 seconds.
We also completed 19 runs in total (the first four of which were all within a 10 minute time frame), once again proving the reliability of this engine.
