| 2011 Championship Points |
|
First place in qualifying gets 10 points down to tenth place gets 1
point. In the eliminations the winner gets 8 points and the losing
finalist gets 7 points. The riders who lost in the semi finals get 6
points or 5 points depending on what times they did in the semi finals.
Bonus points are awarded for running a perfect class index time or
progressively breaking the class record. We did not have time to run eliminations at Santa Pod due to
the late start so all riders who would have been in eliminations were
awarded 4 points. Points are only awarded to members of Straightliners
or 200mph.
(We're on the 4th page under the rider's name Jordan O'Doherty, bike number 1950)
Huge congratulations (and commiserations) go out to Russel Milnes, who after attending all nine rounds achieved a massive 186 points for the season. Unfotunately for him, as stated at the start of the season, only points from 8 out of the 9 rounds count towards the championship. He still however walked away with the points trophy for his class, geared street scooters up to 210cc. Well done Russell! It was also interesting over the year to see the great rivalry, friendly as it was, between Tim and Ian. Well done to Tim who managed to get a neck ahead at the final hurdle and beat Ian by just 3 points.
